- Dave Shapiro was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, just down the road from the atom smasher. Some people think that effects of neonatal radiation can show up many years later, but Dave's debut CD, Love & Gasoline, is proof that a few loose gamma rays can produce wonders - especially, when fused with his childhood memories of Hank Williams, the Everly Brothers, Merle Travis and Johnny Cash. Now, with the release of his self-produced CD, Love & Gasoline, Dave has returned to his roots with new songs, a new band and a renewed passion for playing the kind of music that makes people smile.
